Account Deletion Policy

Effective Date: June 22, 2026 · Version 1.0

This policy explains how to delete your Adjuster Copilot account and what happens to your data when you do. Account deletion is initiated from within the app (App Store guideline 5.1.1(v)).

1. How to delete your account

In the app, go to My Account → Delete account → Delete account, then confirm. You do not need to contact support or an administrator; you initiate the deletion yourself. You may also contact privacy@adjustercopilot.ai with questions.

2. What happens immediately

As soon as you confirm, your account is disabled and you are signed out; you can no longer sign in. This takes effect right away.

3. What is deleted or anonymized

After a short grace period (see Timing), your personal account data is permanently removed or anonymized: your name, email, login credentials, address/location, and personal app preferences. Your email is replaced with a non-identifying placeholder and your password is disabled so the account can never be used again. Personal/operational records tied only to you — such as your notifications, notification preferences, message-thread memberships, and login history — are deleted.

4. What is retained (and why)

Adjuster Copilot is a business platform. Claim and inspection records — claims, inspections, photos, narratives, signatures, documents, and audit logs — are created in the course of work and belong to your organization (the adjusting firm/carrier), not to the individual user. These records are retained by the organization under its own retention obligations and are not removed by an individual account-deletion request. Where such a record must reference the acting user for audit integrity, your identity is anonymized (your personal details are removed) rather than the record erased.

5. Timing

Deletion is scheduled immediately on confirmation; your account is disabled at once, and your personal data is anonymized after a short grace period (target: 30 days). The grace period guards against accidental or unauthorized deletion.

6. Legal holds & obligations

Anonymization or deletion may be delayed or limited where retention is required by law, regulation, or a legal hold (for example, recordkeeping obligations applicable to insurance claims).
